Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and the South African state of Botswana Bakhtiyor Saidov and Lemogang Kwape signed a communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations, Podrobno.uz reports.
“Together with Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Foreign Affairs, we signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations,” Bakhtiyor Saidov said.
At the meeting on the occasion, the Uzbek Foreign Minister emphasized that he highly appreciates Botswana's rapid economic growth over the years. The sides agreed to promote more active cooperation between representatives of the public and private sectors of the countries.
Earlier Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with Cape Verde, Seychelles and Gambia.
