Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Saturday that armaments in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region are on the rise and warned that this could put the world on "the edge of a cliff, on the brink of the danger of nuclear war," Anadolu reported.
"The global system is facing two conventional wars at the same time and all of them have global implications. Stability in the Middle East, the South Caucasus and the eastern Mediterranean as well as the Black Sea is our main goal," he said at the TRT World Forum 2024 event in Istanbul.
Turkey's foreign minister said the UN, an organization created to "maintain international peace and security, has failed in its mission."
"No order can be sustainable if it is not based on justice," Fidan added.
