On Thursday, August 15, the Mirabad District Criminal Court will begin hearing the case against former Agriculture Minister Aziz Voitov, according to the Supreme Court website.
The former minister is accused of embezzlement or misappropriation and other crimes. Two businessmen have also been charged in the case.
Investigative bodies have charged Aziz Voitov under four articles of the Criminal Code, including Article 167, Part 3 (embezzlement or misappropriation on a large scale, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), Article 205, Part 2 (abuse of power or official authority, resulting in major damage), Article 206, Part 2 (abuse of power or official authority, resulting in major damage), as well as Article 209, Part 2 (official forgery, committed repeatedly).
Entrepreneurs Orzubek Otoboyevich Razhabov and Alisher Fazliddinovich Urunboyev are also accused in this case.
Orzubek Razhabov is charged with embezzlement or embezzlement, violation of the rules of trade or services, official forgery, bribery and forgery of documents.
Alisher Urunboyev is charged with theft or embezzlement.
Recall, the former Minister of Agriculture Aziz Voitov was arrested in December 2023.
Voitov headed the Ministry of Agriculture from August 2022 to October 2023, before that he served as First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.
