The Israeli army reported a strike on a Hezbollah weapons depot in southern Lebanon

YEREVAN, August 17 - Sputnik. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck the military infrastructure and weapons depot of the Lebanese movement "Hezbollah" in southern Lebanon. This is stated in the IDF Telegram channel.


"Yesterday, the Israel Defense Forces struck military infrastructure in the settlements of Hanini and Maroun al-Ras in southern Lebanon. In addition, a Hezbollah weapons depot was struck overnight near the town of Nabatiyeh," the Israeli army said."


IDF artillery, the army specified, also struck to eliminate the threat in the areas of the villages of Rmeish, Labbouneh, Kfarchouba and Aita al-Shab in southern Lebanon.


The situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border has escalated since the start of Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. The Israeli army and fighters of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement fire daily at each other's positions in areas along the border. According to the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, about 100,000 people were forced to leave their homes in southern Lebanon because of Israeli shelling. The Israeli side reported that about 80 thousand residents of northern Israel were in a similar situation.
