Pashinyan says he is not going to the meeting of CIS leaders in St. Petersburg because of coronavirus

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that he will not take part in the informal summit of the CIS because of the coronavirus detected in him, and there is no decision about participation in the EAEU summit yet.

The Armenian prime minister has been working in isolation from his residence for two days with a positive test, and today he has already received a negative result and is returning to normal working mode.

“However, after consulting with my colleagues, I will not participate in the informal summit of CIS leaders to be held today in St. Petersburg. By the end of the day I will make a decision on whether or not to participate in tomorrow's meeting of the EAEU Supreme Economic Council,” he wrote early in the morning on social media.

The informal CIS summit will be held on December 25, while the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held on December 26.

The meeting of CIS leaders is traditionally held every year in late December in St. Petersburg. This time the informal summit will be held at the Igora ski resort complex in the Leningrad Region, near St. Petersburg.
