Pashinyan to take part in the events of the final day of the summit.
YEREVAN, October 24 - Sputnik. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has arrived in Kazan to participate in the BRICS summit.
The Armenian PM's plane landed at the Kazan airport at about 07:05 local time.
Pashinyan will take part in the events of the final day of the summit.
He was met at the airport by the Russian delegation. Pashinyan was treated with bread and salt, tasted the traditional sweet chak-chak, after which he got into a car and left for his destination.
On October 23, Nikol Pashinyan said in Parliament that participation in the BRICS summit is important for Armenia, as its agenda directly concerns it.
Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin in his turn confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will be able to communicate within the BRICS summit.
BRICS is an interstate association created in 2006 by Russia, China, India and Brazil, and in 2011 South Africa joined the structure.
Since the beginning of 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia have also joined BRICS.
