The protesters who have been protesting in Tbilisi since Tuesday have ended the rally with a march through the streets of the city, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
A column of opposition supporters, numbering about 100 people, marched through the streets of Tbilisi on Wednesday morning, moving away from the city center. As it progressed, individual rally participants and small groups left the procession.
A new opposition rally began Tuesday evening near the Georgian parliament, from where it was pushed further down Rustaveli Avenue. During the night, protesters attacked a police barrier with pyrotechnics, and in the morning security forces pushed the crowd off the avenue. Then the protesters reached the Tbilisi City Hall and blocked the traffic in front of it for some time.
Another series of opposition protests began in Georgia on November 28 after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced his decision to suspend consideration of the issue of starting negotiations on the country's membership in the European Union until 2028.
The protesters used firecrackers, stones, bottles, and it was reported that Molotov cocktail bottles were found at the site of pogroms. Law enforcers responded by using special equipment, including water cannons.
