Bakhtiyor Ibragimov has been appointed Uzbekistan's new ambassador to Kazakhstan. He succeeds Saidikram Niyazkhodzhaev, who served as ambassador from 2018-2024, Dunyo reported.
Ibragimov graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.
He began his labor activity in 1994 in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan (now the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade). In 2001, he started working at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States as the first secretary, then as an advisor on trade and economic issues.
Upon his return, he worked in various positions in economic structures under the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, as head of the sector of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In 2019-2022, he was ambassador to the UAE. He also worked as director of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
