Kazakhstan International News Agency reported: In order to implement the important instructions given by the head of state in the State of the Union Address on September 1, 2023, Kazakhstan’s national hydrogeological service agency - Kazakhstan Hydrogeological Bureau - was officially established.
According to the Prime Minister’s official website, Prime Minister Volzas Bektenov recently signed the relevant resolution.
The newly established National Hydrogeological Bureau will assume the responsibility of comprehensive inventory of groundwater deposits, groundwater exploration blocks and water extraction hydrogeological drilling, and establish a comprehensive database covering more than 4,300 proven groundwater deposits and blocks, including their recoverable reserves. , which will be included in the national balance.
In addition, the National Hydrogeological Administration will also work on the comprehensive digitization of the hydrogeological industry and introduce an automatic groundwater monitoring system. Another focus of the agency is to carry out water resource exploration to increase groundwater resource reserves in water-scarce areas of Kazakhstan. At the same time, groundwater will continue to be provided to residents and economic sectors, including for irrigation.
