Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), will visit Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the "ICAO Global implementation Support Symposium 2024" global summit held in the Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan Deputy Minister of Transport Talkhat Rastayev and International Civil Aviation The meeting was held with Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the Organization Council, and Juan Carlos, ICAO Secretary General.
During the talks, the two sides reached a consensus on arranging an official visit to Kazakhstan by the President of the ICAO Council at the end of this year.
In addition, ICAO will sign a bilateral cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Assistance, Capacity Building and Training for Sustainable Aviation Fuels (ACT-SAF) programme.
The Deputy Minister of Transport also attended the ICAO Ministerial Roundtable and briefed the participants on the development of Kazakhstan’s aviation sector.
Ministers and deputy ministers of ICAO member states attended the event.
Within the framework of the summit, the Deputy Minister also met with Deborah Stevenson, spokesperson of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), on the issue of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States, and on the convening of a meeting of aviation regulatory agencies between Central Asia and Qatar. Meetings were held separately with Mohammed Al-Falih Alhadri, Chairman of the Qatar Aviation Authority.
In addition, the Deputy Minister also met with Nicholas Robertson, Deputy Minister of Transport of Canada, Yap Ong Heng, Senior Advisor of the Ministry of Transport of Singapore, Saif Suaibi, Director of the UAE Aviation Authority, and Senior Vice President of the International Air Transport Association.
