Former President Mikheil Saakashvili's United National Movement party will be recognized unconstitutional and parliamentarians from this political force will be deprived of parliamentary mandates, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters.
Parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia on October 26. Earlier, Kobakhidze said that if the Georgian Dream wins a constitutional majority, it will declare Saakashvili's party unconstitutional.
“I believe that two subjects will get into the parliament. It will be Georgian Dream and one of the opposition associations. The rest will be decided by the population, how the political processes will go. No matter who crosses the barrier, no one will be able to escape the responsibility for what they did during their rule and then, being in the opposition for 12 years... The annulment of parliamentary mandates would be a logical continuation of the ban on the National Movement party, this can be done by the constitutional court,” Kobakhidze told reporters.
