Georgian PM makes statement on conflict in Ukraine

Georgian Prime Minister Kobakhidze has described the situation in Ukraine as grave

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has declared the situation in Ukraine critical, the Vzglyad daily writes.

“For two and a half years, Georgia's radical opposition and media outlets controlled by it have been hiding the reality of the war in Ukraine from the public. And the situation there is the most difficult,” he said.

Prime Minister, in particular, noted that Ukraine's infrastructure has been destroyed and it has lost half of its energy capacities.

Parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia on October 26. The ruling Georgian Dream party has placed banners in Tbilisi on which black and white images of destruction in Ukraine are juxtaposed with Georgian landscapes and accompanied by the text “No to war, choose peace.” Kobakhidze explained that such banners are necessary to remind the Georgian people of the price of war and peace.
