According to the latest data from the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CEIR), sales of electric cars in Uzbekistan are showing strong growth. In July 2024, sales of electric cars exceeded 3.4 thousand units, which is 28% higher than in the same period last year.
Positive dynamics is noted both in the segment of new electric cars and in the secondary market. Sales of new electric cars for the month show growth of 11.2%. The secondary market also showed growth, amounting to 18.2%.
Despite the positive trends in electric vehicles, the total number of passenger car sales in Uzbekistan in July this year surpassed 92 thousand units. This is 30% less than in July 2023.
The drop in sales affected both imported and domestic cars. Sales of foreign cars decreased by 46.5%, amounting to 2.6 thousand units. The market of domestic cars decreased by 6%. Recall that in Uzbekistan, users of social networks note the great savings that electric cars bring.
