Uzbekistan, Tashkent - AN Podrobno.uz. At the Republican Party convention, Donald Trump was nominated as a candidate for the U.S. presidency. This was his first public appearance after the assassination attempt.
The majority of delegates voted in favor of Trump. The event began the day before in the state of Wisconsin and will last until July 18.
Before that, Trump announced his vice presidential nominee - Senator James David Vance.
According to Reuters, the politician is close to Trump in his views on foreign, domestic and economic policy: he is an isolationist and economic populist.
It should be noted that Trump was the 45th president of the United States, he led the country from January 2017 to January 2021.
Meanwhile, a rally is taking place in Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee with participants unhappy with candidates from both parties - both Trump and Biden, BBC correspondent Jean Shirin reports from Milwaukee.
They came to the rally with placards reading "We can no longer afford the rich" and "No to racist Trump, no to genocidal Joe." Biden was depicted on the poster with bloody vampire teeth and Trump with a piglet's nose.
The next U.S. presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024.
