CEC publishes preliminary results of parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan

More than 15 million voters took part in the voting.


Today, 28 October, the Central Election Commission announced the preliminary results of the elections.


More than 15,027,529 voters participated in the voting throughout the country. Over 140,388 people voted abroad.


According to the election results, the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan is in the lead with 34.75 per cent of the votes. 5,194,041 voters voted for it.


The votes of other voters were distributed as follows:


- Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish: 18.82 per cent (2,812,493 voters);




- Ecological Party of Uzbekistan: 13.12 per cent (1,960,764 voters);




- People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan: 17.11 per cent (2,558,016 voters);




- Adolat Social Democratic Party: 16.20 per cent (2,420,857 voters).


The turnout for the elections was 74.72 per cent. They were officially recognised as valid. For the first time in the history of the republic, the elections were held under a mixed electoral system.
