Armenian Prime Minister: Turkey stands for stability in the South Caucasus

Writer: Times TengriTimes Tengri

Turkey is in favor of stability in the South Caucasus. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this in an interview with Turkish media.

“In terms of Turkey's role, here it has to make a choice, because we hear that Turkey is making attempts - maybe we misunderstand the message. As you noted: why is Turkey discussing South Caucasus issues with the United States? Because we think Turkey, at least judging by the messaging, is in favor of stability in the South Caucasus. We see that Turkey, both at the level of the President and at the level of the Foreign Minister, is in favor of signing a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And if we perceive these messages correctly, it also means a certain balance in Turkey's relations in the South Caucasus or we misperceive.

But on the other hand, any efforts that will contribute to the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan will certainly be beneficial. We should also keep in mind that Armenia and Azerbaijan are currently working in a bilateral format. But on the other hand, we also want our international partners to be informed about what is happening in the peace process, and we are sharing this information with them,” Pashinyan said.
