An Armenian embassy will be opened in Hungary. A corresponding decision was made on November 28 at the session of the Armenian Government.
The justification says that on December 1, 2022, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Hungary Ararat Mirzoyan and Peter Szijjarto met in Lodz, during which an agreement was reached on the full restoration of diplomatic relations.
After the restoration of diplomatic relations, an active political dialog is underway between the two countries, and there is a multi-sector bilateral agenda.
Hungary is of great importance for Armenia as an EU member state. The Armenian-Hungarian cooperation has great potential for development also within the framework of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the Eastern Partnership.
During Mirzoyan's visit to Hungary on May 6 this year, an agreement was reached on mutual opening of embassies in the capitals.
