The 23rd session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Armenia and Russia co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk was held in Moscow.
Grigoryan emphasized the high level of cooperation in trade-economic, transport, energy, medical, educational and other spheres, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed in the press service of the Government.
He expressed confidence that the significant simplification of transportation and control procedures at the checkpoints, particularly at the Upper Lars checkpoint, will contribute to the smooth operation of the supply chain, as well as increase the competitiveness of the economies of both countries.
The Armenian Deputy Prime Minister described as successful the implementation of the pilot program between Armenia and Russia on ensuring free movement of goods through navigation barriers for some types of products.
He reaffirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to expand cooperation in the sphere of peaceful use of atomic energy and within its framework emphasize partnership in the sphere of nuclear medicine.
